Roberts Reads Event - The First Grader

 Screening of the film The First Grader. The film is a biographical drama based on the true story of Kimani Maruge, a Kenyan man who enrolled in elementary education at the age of 84 after the Kenyan government announced universal and free elementary education in 2003.

"Roberts Reads" is an annual event in which the college community reads a common book and participates in a variety of related learning opportunities. The intent of the program is to be cross-disciplinary and multifaceted in its approach. Participants read, think about, and discuss the book. This year all of the Roberts community is invited to read Parker Palmer’s LET YOUR LIFE SPEAK and participate in events related to the themes of the book.
