Professor of Art
Douglas Giebel has taught drawing, painting and art history at Roberts since 1982. He was trained in New York City as a figurative artist at the Art Student’s League, Pratt Institute (B.F.A.) and Queens College, CUNY (M.F.A.). Recently he has been painting landscapes with figures set primarily in Highland Park, Rochester, and is continuing his studies of Romanesque art through trips to Provence, Burgundy, and Italy. His paintings and drawings are exhibited regularly at VIsions Gallery, Albany, New York, and at college campuses across the country. He actively participates in Christians in the Visual Arts, and the College Art Association.
