Council On Social Work Education (CSWE)
The Council on Social Work Education is the national accrediting organization for professional BSW and MSW Programs. Roberts Wesleyan College’s BSW was first accredited in 1980. Our MSW Program was first accredited in 1996. Both programs are completing their reaccreditation process in 2010. The Undergraduate Social Work curriculum has been designed consistent with the CSWE Curriculum Policy Statement (CPS). Therefore, we ask every faculty member, student, volunteer, etc. affiliated with Roberts Wesleyan College to thoroughly read the CSWE CPS located in our student handbook.
The Association of Baccalaureate Social Work Program Directors (BPD)

The National Association of Social Workers (NASW)
The National Association of Social Workers (NASW) is the largest membership association for professional social workers in the world, with 160,000 members in the United States and overseas. In New York alone there are more than 22,000 NASW members; the New York State (NYS) chapter, which encompasses all New York except the five boroughs of New York City, has over 12,000, while the New York City chapter has the remainder. The two chapters work together to carry out the mission and goals of the Association (http://www.naswnys.org/). Roberts Wesleyan College Undergraduate Social Work faculty and students, participate each year with the NASWNYS Genesee Valley Division to foster membership, facilitate leadership and recognize outstanding students, educators and practitioners.
North American Association of Christians in Social Work (NACSW)
NACSW is an interdenominational and international organization which grew out of a series of annual conferences beginning in 1950. NACSW was incorporated in 1954, which means it has been in existence even longer than NASW. In 1984, NACSW changed its name from "National" to "North American Association of Christians in Social Work" when a large number of social workers living in Canada became members of NACSW. Membership in NACSW is open to all persons or organizations that support the organization’s Mission Statement and Statement of Faith and Practice. Most of NACSW's members are professional social work practitioners and faculty, but others include students, clergy, and other persons of faith working in the social services (www.nacsw.org). Roberts Wesleyan College Undergraduate Social Work faculty and students, participate each year with the NACSW national conference as presenters and volunteers.
