Jane Hamway holds a Master of Music in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan College, and a Bachelor of Music and Liberal Arts from The University of Newcastle, in Newcastle Australia. As an undergraduate student, Jane studied viola performance under the tutelage of prominent Australian violist Deborah Lander. Here she won the Nina Doratis Scholarship for Viola and graduated Magna Cum Laude in 2005. In 2006 she completed a Graduate Diploma of Music Education at the University of New England in Armidale, Australia.
In 2007, Jane moved to Rochester where she continued her studies at Roberts Wesleyan College, gaining a Master of Music Education. She has performed with many local orchestras, including the Roberts Wesleyan College Community Orchestra, the Penfield Symphony, and the Rochester Oratorio Society. She is also a member of the Felice String Quartet.
Jane has taught private string lessons, workshops and summer string camps at many local music stores, and has spent time working with K-2 students in a General Music program in Canandaigua. Jane is currently the Adjunct Professor of String Methods at Roberts Wesleyan College.
