Dr. Sequetta F. Sweet founded Atteuq Potential Unlimited, Inc. in 2005. The company provides Performance and Talent Management consulting with emphasis on Human Resource Training, Development, Organizational Learning and Change. The ultimate objective is to assist in improving individual and organizational performance – unleashing potential and driving performance. Services are provided in the following areas: Leadership Development, Strategic Planning, Performance Management, Management, Project Management, Customer Service, Diversity & Diversity Management, Executive Coaching, Communication, Assertiveness, Dealing with Difficult Personalities, Systems Analysis & Design, Software Development and Microsoft Office Products.

Prior to starting Atteuq, Dr. Sweet enjoyed a nearly 25 year career in corporate America and the Information Technology (IT) industry working to hone her leadership, business, and IT skills. She served in IT roles such as: Requirements/System Analyst, Systems Engineer, Database Administrator (DBA), Project Manager, Process Engineer, and Applications Development Manager. She has worked at fortune 500 companies in both Rochester, NY and Boston, MA. Dr. Sweet served as an adjunct instructor at Monroe Community College in the Office and Computer Programs department for two years and at Bryant and Stratton College for two years. She is currently an adjunct faculty member at several area colleges in Rochester teaching management classes and teaches online management classes at Ashford University.

In August 2012 Dr. Sweet received her doctorate in Executive Leadership from St. John Fisher College in Rochester, NY focusing her dissertation in Entrepreneurship and Entrepreneurial Learning. She served as a graduate assistant to the program and completed field experiences in Entrepreneurship with the College’s Bittner School of Business. She holds a Masters of Science in Organizational Learning and Human Resource Development from St. John Fisher College and a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, NY.

Dr. Sweet’s primary objective as a teacher is three-fold, that students: 1) learn the fundamental content of the course I am teaching; 2) develop the highest level of critical thinking possible to be able to approach innovative and unique solutions to problems; and 3) consider other points of view. At the same time, she desires to reflect the values of the organization for which I am working. My core values with regard to education are: excellence and innovation in teaching.

It is Sequetta’s desire, when in the classroom, to bring the highest order of student-centered teaching possible. She believes this means that she must:

  • Have a good understanding of pedagological and, in the case of adult learners, andragological approaches to teaching and learning.
  • Embrace and value differences.
  • Be a life-long learner and unafraid to be evaluated on and improve my teaching abilities.
  • Be fair, respectful and compassionate.
  • Be innovative and exhibit passion for people and teaching.

Sequetta seeks to exemplify and even personify these characteristics or seek to do so to the best of my ability. Teaching, training and helping others learn is not a profession for Dr. Sweet, but a calling of sorts after a very long career in Information Technology. She approaches each student as if he or she is a unique individual with the greatest potential. She constantly seeks new ways of helping students learn and grow. She constantly seeks new and innovative methods and approaches to teaching. She states: “I am humbled by this calling and any opportunity to answer the call.”

Sequetta is happily married to Charles, a retired construction and home remodeling and repair professional. She enjoys reading, playing games on her ipad and watching westerns on TV. Connect with
