“I felt my Roberts experience was one that embraced my diversity and uniqueness and emphasized my strengths allowing me to find renewed faith, family, and focus.”

Hiie Silmere, Ph.D., M.S.W.

Associate Professor of Social Work

I made my way to Roberts via Estonia, Michigan, and Missouri. One of my key roles is to help students apply research into social work practice. I also love to engage them outside of the classroom through research assistantships, conference presentations, or conversations on a variety of topics. It is a joy to work at Roberts where our small class sizes make it possible to get to know all of our students.
