NOTE: This is a post-graduate certificate registered with New York State.

Roberts’ Post-Master’s Certificate in Nursing Education offers actively working nurses the opportunity to develop expertise in teaching nursing students and staff. Designed with flexibility to meet the needs of busy nursing professionals of all ages and experience, this time-shortened program may fulfill the education criteria for the NLN Certified Nurse Educator exam.

  • Optional courses in Advanced Clinical Foundations for Nurse Educators also available

Admission Requirements

  1. Current license to practice as a registered professional nurse in the US or Canada
  2. Clinical experience as an RN at least equivalent to 2 years full time in the last 4 years
  3. Master’s Degree in Nursing from a regionally accredited institution
  4. Cumulative GPA of 3.0 on a 4.0 scale in both graduate and undergraduate programs
  5. Official transcript from all previous undergraduate and graduate institutions attended
  6. At least a B minus (B-) in a graduate-level research course
  7. Preadmission interview and/or info. meeting
  8. Completion of the program application

National League for Nursing Certification for Nurse Educators

You should make attaining the Certified Nurse Educator designation your goal if, after carefully reviewing the test blueprint and the eligibility requirements, you determine that your educational and experiential qualifications have provided you with sufficient opportunity to participate meaningfully in the full scope of the faculty role.
