What Will I Learn?

Develop competence in using the System Design Life Cycle to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate projects to promote quality outcomes.

  • Focus on applied knowledge of data management, data transformation and technologies to integrate solutions in healthcare settings that support healthcare services to individuals, families, and identified populations within applicable laws and regulations.
  • Participate in an internship experience to further develop your expertise.  All students will design an evidence-based practice project proposal to address a clinical concern using technology solutions.

Early in my nursing career I became interested in the successful use of technology in documenting and tracking nursing care and patient outcomes. The technology explosion has impacted healthcare delivery and even nursing education. The nurse leader and educator of the 21st century are in positions to be instrumental in leveraging technology in healthcare to improve quality of care and patient safety! It is an exciting time to be a nurse!
