What Will I Learn?

You will study the latest research on how children learn, applying course content through field experience, simulations and student teaching. Universal design, technology, lesson planning, diversity, and field work are incorporated into a 45-credit, 4 semester program that equips you with the knowledge and skills you need to help children succeed in school.

Personal attention from caring faculty and comprehensive support services—including test review, interview preparation, certification coordination and placement services—help you succeed in making a difference in the lives of children and young adults.

This program is designed for students holding a bachelor’s degree in a content area.

Toni Mixon

Assistant Professor of Education
Dr. Toni Mixon has presented her research of African American Males with emotional and behavioral disorders at the NYS Council for Exceptional Children, the National Conference for the Council for Exceptional Children, and the Early Reading Conference. She is a member of the Education Committee for the Buffalo Urban League of Young Professionals, the Diversity Caucus for the Council of Exceptional Education, and the Buffalo Metropolitan Alliance of Black Educators.
