The Colossians 3:17 Scholarship
(Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences)

"And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.” – Colossians 3:17, NIV

The Department of Biological and Chemical Sciences at Roberts Wesleyan College prides itself in providing an exciting learning environment, which values scientific education from a Christian perspective. It is our priority to not only prepare students to understand the importance of applying fundamental knowledge and laboratory techniques to solve critical scientific problems, but motivate them to be life-long learners, and sensitized to the moral and ethical issues created by modern scientific discoveries. Here are some exciting statistics about our department.

  • 96% of recent graduates within the last 10 years are attending graduate or health professional school, finding employment as a research scientist in industry or teaching.
  • 89% of the pre-health professional students within the last 10 years who apply to professional schools after completing their undergraduate programs at Roberts are accepted.

“The faculty at Roberts challenged me, encouraged me, and forced me to broaden my horizons. My professors were more than just instructors; they were mentors, sources of encouragement, and at times great listeners. Now as a faculty member at Roberts I continue to experience what I loved so much as a student: faculty student interactions, small classes, and a hands on learning environment.”- Amy Ensign Kovach, Class of 2004 (faculty member since 2009)

The impact that Amy is making on our now current Roberts students would not have been possible without scholarship money. In order to continue developing  Roberts students, we are asking you, as alumni, to consider giving to the Colossians 3:17 Scholarship today!

The Psalm 19 Scholarship
(The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics)

The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics, and Physics invites you to join other alumni and support the scholarship and financial aid needs of future mathematics and physic majors through the Psalm 19 Scholarship. Through this scholarship you can help lessen the financial burden on future students as they strive to further understand the created order “thinking God’s thoughts after Him” (attributed to Johann Kepler). The Department of Computer Science, mathematics and Physics at Roberts Wesleyan College values education from a Christian perspective. Here’s what alumnus, Steve Roll, shares concerning his experience at Roberts:

“Before Roberts, I spent two years attending a large research university where I was lost in the crowded lecture halls and the faculty was more interested in research than teaching. At Roberts, I was grateful to find a faculty of great professors who are focused on teaching and who care deeply about their students’ success both academically and in life. When I think back on Roberts and the Math program, I think of the great professors and their impact in preparing me for my career as an Actuary. I am so grateful for the scholarships I received while attending Roberts. Scholarships helped make my college education a reality. I want to let you know how important your giving is to help future Math students receive a Roberts education. “ - Steve Roll, Class of 2010

“My name is Ashellee Spears and I am currently in the Roberts Wesleyan Masters of Social Work Program with a concentration of Mental Health. My experience as an RWC Psych undergrad allowed me to experience the beautiful complexity of who we are on a much greater level. It is aweing in a sense to observe what an individual is capable of either positive or negatively when it comes to the functions of the mind. The more in depth you learn about the cause and effects of the human psyche the more God's wondrous yet complex nature is slowly revealed“ - Ashellee, Class of 2015

The impact Ashellee is going to make on the world would not be possible without scholarship money. In order to continue developing Roberts’s students, we are asking you, as alumni, to consider giving to the Department of Visual Arts Student Scholarship today!
