Piano Lessons, Piano Discoveries - RCMS

Olivia Colomaio loves to teach piano to all ages! She earned a Master of Music in Piano Pedagogy and Performance from Campbellsville University in May ‘19, where she served as the accompanist for the Women’s Choir, University Chorale, and the Opera Workshop, as well as for various vocal and instrumental soloists. Olivia also performed within and outside of the university, receiving the Meskimen Piano Scholarship both years she was in attendance and holding one of the three graduate assistantship positions for the music department. Olivia served as the pianist and organist for the United Presbyterian Church of Glasgow, KY, and also taught private lessons. Before her time at Campbellsville, Olivia taught piano lessons to a dozen students at the Roberts Wesleyan College Community Music School in Rochester, New York, while finishing her undergraduate education there. At Roberts Wesleyan College, she also worked as a tutor for music theory, music history, class piano, and orchestration, and accompanied the Men’s Chorus, the Women’s Choir, and numerous vocal and instrumental soloists. She also occasionally served as the pianist for the Wind Ensemble, the Roberts Wesleyan College Community Orchestra, and collaborated with several different student chamber music groups. On Sundays, Olivia served as the pianist and organist for the North Chili United Methodist and the Churchville United Methodist churches. During the summer, Olivia serves as a counselor at the Csehy Summer School of Music in Langhorne, Pennsylvania. She is currently a member of the Music Teachers National Association, as well as the Rochester Piano Teachers Guild.

Olivia earned a Bachelor of Science in Piano Performance from Roberts Wesleyan College, where she was named the Presser Scholar in April of 2016 (the close of her junior year). Her primary piano professor was the distinguished Dr. Michael Landrum, but she also studied regularly with Julie Runion for accompanying and piano pedagogy, and with Dr. Diane Maynard from Eastman for organ. Olivia has also been privileged, on occasion, to work with Dr. Gretchen Hull, Graeme Burgan, and Evelyn Larter. Olivia studied with Dr. William Budai, Dr. Wesley Roberts, Dr. Bethany Stiles, and Dr. Saulo DeAlmeida at Campbellsville University.
