Marie Crasta holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Music Education from Roberts Wesleyan College, and a Master’s Degree in Music Education from University at Buffalo. She received Level 1 Early Childhood and Music Moves for Piano Certification from the Gordon Institute for Music Learning.
Prior to returning home to Rochester, Marie taught elementary general music in Weston, Mass., for three years. She directed the elementary chorus, musical, and co-directed the elementary orchestra. While working with elementary students, she developed a passion for broadening their musical horizons by providing opportunities for them to work with local artists and musicians, explore instruments and dance from around the world, and perform alongside student groups of various ages.
She also taught a variety of early childhood classes, group piano/voice lessons, and private piano/voice lessons at Brookline Music School in Mass. Currently Marie is teaching general music at Vollmer Elementary School in the Rush Henrietta School District. She finds joy in bringing the community together through music!
