Biography

Born in Biarritz, France, Léa Hossack Bouillon studied voice with Constance Fee and violin with An-chi Lin at Roberts Wesleyan College where she graduated with her B.S. in vocal performance last Spring. She started her violin studies at the Conservatoire de Bayonne, France when she was 7 and went on to study voice at the Conservatoire de Caen in Normandy. Léa won the first place of her division at the NATS Eastern this year as a Soprano. During her time at Roberts, she performed as a soloist on several occasions with the RWCCO. A member of the Roberts Wesleyan College Chorale, she was a soprano soloist in Mozart’s Coronation Mass with the RWCCO, in February 2018, Léa was a Concerto-Aria Competition Winner, performing as a soloist with the RWCCO, and in October 2018 she performed again pieces by Richard Doyle with the RWCCO. In April 2018, she performed the role of The Mother in the Roberts Opera Theatre production of Humperdinck’s setting of the beloved children’s story, Hansel & Gretel. As a participant and worship leader at the Crescendo Summer Music Institute in Tokaj, Hungary for two summers, she performed in scenes from Mozart’s Così fan tutte as Despina and Gounod’s Roméo et Juliette as Juliette, as well as in art song concerts featuring works of Rachmaninoff, Schubert, and Barber. She has performed several times with her husband, tenor Joshua Alain Bouillon, in Rochester at Pearce Memorial Church, Asbury Church, the Little Theatre, etc. and also gave a recital at Souderton Mennonite Church in Pennsylvania with pianist Dr. Michael Landrum in 2018.
