Biography

Chris finds immense purpose behind the drum kit and strives to spread positivity through his music. He has been drumming for over 10 years and has been gigging professionally for over 6 years, performing in a variety of contexts, including both large and small jazz ensembles, funk bands, hip hop groups, singer-songwriters, and pop bands. Some groups that he currently actively performs with include Juicy Connotation, Dream Float, Painted Birds, and singer-songwriter Siena Facciolo.  He cultivates a unique sound at the drums, combining elements of African, Caribbean, and South American rhythms with traditional Western grooves to create something entirely fresh and powerful. Chris has a passion for honing his abilities and is both a dedicated teacher and musician. He has been fortunate to study under amazing musicians and educators such as Chase Ellison at the Eastman School of Music, Mark Walker at the Berklee College of Music, Henry Cole, Juan Mejia, Jon Butterworth, Kerfala "Fana" Bangoura, and Bill Tiberio. Chris takes great joy in passing on his love and passion for music and drumming to others through his teaching.
