Occupational Therapist - Faculty Position

Roberts Wesleyan College invites candidates to apply for a full-time (11 month), tenure track Occupational Therapist faculty position for one of the first entry-level OTD Programs in New York State (pending NYS and ACOTE approvals) projected to launch fall 2021. Seeking a candidate who desires significant creative input that will impact the enduring character of the developing OTD program. The faculty member’s distinctive investment in our innovative program will shape students for years to come and will have a lasting impact on the OT profession. The Occupational Therapy program is housed in the School of Natural and Social Sciences on the park-like campus in Rochester, New York, providing the program with the advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area.

Roberts is an independent, coeducational liberal arts college in the Christian tradition with approximately 1900 students.  Our applicant OTD program is faith-based, rooted in occupational justice, and immersed in occupation-based participation and innovative growth to develop entry-level clinicians that are prepared to engage in leadership, emerging practice, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning.

Required qualifications:

Required qualifications include an academic doctoral degree, licensure or license-eligible in New York State, and certification by NBCOT. We are looking for candidates with at least two years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist with prior academic experience strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support the College’s Christian mission and identity. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate cultural competence and must value the principles of diversity and equity. Faculty are responsible for teaching and scholarship in their area(s) of expertise, aligning with the department mission, program objectives, strategic plan, curricular philosophy, and design, and in compliance with requirements of Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards.
