Financial Business Analyst

Position Description/Responsibilities: The Finance Office seeks candidates for a full-time Financial Business Analyst position to utilize financial management, data management and analysis, and systems knowledge to prepare and present detailed financial reports, including trending and variance analysis. The Analyst serves as a utility player within the College, with opportunities and expectations to learn, grow, contribute and collaborate with other critical areas.  The Analyst will partner with business units to provide timely, relevant and accurate reporting and analysis about the departments’ performance against historical, budgeted, forecasted and strategic planning results, and will assist with resolution of inconsistencies and issues. The Analyst contributes significantly to the annual budget process, month end and year end closing procedures, and provides support/analysis to any financial audits and Board of Trustee reporting, while maintaining comprehensive procedures and documentation for these tasks. Creates/enhances custom and standardized reports, strengthens the depth of reconciliations, and helps identify and implement process improvements.

Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field and minimum three years related experience required. Ability to analyze complex data, understand relationships among sources of information, and make independent assessments required. Must be accurate, flexible and detail oriented, while demonstrating strong organizational and interpersonal skills. Discretion, good judgment and outstanding customer service also required for managing and processing a variety of confidential and time sensitive materials. Excellent analytical and MS Excel skills, including financial modeling; ability to work independently and collaboratively with cross functional teams; ability to set priorities and manage competing demands, and consistently demonstrate high standards of integrity also required. Microsoft Dynamics, financial reconciliation, revenue recognition and cash flow experience preferred. MS, MBA, CPA also preferred.
