Director of Seminary Advancement
Position Description/Responsibilities: The Advancement Office seeks a full-time Director of Seminary Advancement to develop and lead a comprehensive, strategic, integrated effort to build the base of annual donors for Northeastern Seminary. The Director will coordinate a year-round program involving all forms of donor acquisition, cultivation, solicitation, and retention. In addition, the Director will cultivate relationships with external constituents including churches, church leaders, foundations, alumni and friends. Key responsibilities include growing leadership level giving to the annual fund through oversight of the Northeastern Circle; creating and implementing a comprehensive strategy that enlists new leadership level donors, stewards current donors, and reengages lapsed donors; and managing a personal portfolio of annual leadership level and major gift prospects, including identifying, qualifying, cultivating relationships, soliciting gifts, and providing stewardship.
Qualifications: The successful candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree and at least 3-5 years’ experience in administrative leadership in ministry or higher education, with demonstrable familiarity with the not-for-profit sector; graduate theological education degree preferred. Must possess exceptional oral and written communication skills, as well as strong computer skills and strong analytical skills with the ability to quickly and regularly adjust strategy based on giving trends. Ability to effectively manage multiple projects and tasks and a commitment to a collaborative, team approach also required.
Regular local and regional travel expected.
