Assistant Director of Athletics

Position Description/Responsibilities: The Athletics Department is accepting applications for a full-time Assistant Director of Athletics. This position is a senior level role within the Roberts Wesleyan College Athletics Department. This person works in conjunction with the Director of Athletics to provide strategic leadership and vision to the Department.  This includes, but is not limited to, developing and implementing policies, procedures, and an organizational structure that ensures administrative and operational effectiveness, budget management, compliance, day-to-day operations and game day administrative coverage.  Assist as needed with fundraising, marketing, branding and maintaining sponsor relationships. Provide athletic department personnel supervision and evaluation. Administer and report student–athlete surveys annually and handle strategy map design and implementation.

Work closely with Senior Woman Administrator on NCAA financial and self-study audits, EADA reporting, and Middle States Assessment and Reporting and provide leadership to the College’s drug and alcohol safety program.

The Assistant Director of Athletics serves as an active and visible presence within the department and provides supervision to assigned sport programs.  The Assistant Director also represents the Athletics Department on and off campus through guidance, leadership, and community building.  This person works closely with the Director of Athletics on matters relating to the department, College, East Coast Conference and the NCAA, while adhering to all rules and regulations of those organizations.

The Assistant Director of Athletics assists the Director of Athletics in upholding the College’s mission; facilitates discussions and assists with policies that positively impact student-athletes as they interact with coaches, administrators, faculty, staff and the community; and provides support and services to enhance the college experience of all student-athletes.

 

Qualifications: Master’s degree preferred and 3-5 years administrative experience at a college or in a sports field. Strong interpersonal, customer service, and organizational skills along with the ability to work effectively with people at all levels of institution.
