Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (OTD Program)

Roberts Wesleyan College invites applications for a full-time (11-month), tenure-track Academic Fieldwork Coordinator (AFWC) position for one of the first entry-level Doctor of Occupational Therapy (OTD) Programs in New York State (pending approval) beginning no later than July 1, 2020. As part of the founding faculty, the AFWC will have significant creative and community relationship development opportunities that will impact the enduring character of our program. The Occupational Therapy program is housed in the School of Natural and Social Sciences on our park-like campus in Rochester New York, providing the program with the advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area.

Roberts is an independent, coeducational liberal arts college in the Christian tradition with approximately 1800 students.  Our applicant OTD program is faith-based, rooted in occupational justice, and immersed in occupation-based participation and innovative growth to develop entry-level clinicians that are prepared to engage in leadership, emerging practice, entrepreneurship, and lifelong learning.

Required qualifications include an academic doctoral degree, licensure or license-eligible in New York State, and certification by NBCOT. Candidates must have at least two years of clinical practice experience as an occupational therapist with prior academic experience strongly preferred. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support the College’s Christian mission and identity.

The academic fieldwork coordinator (AFWC)  is specifically responsible for the program’s compliance with the fieldwork requirements of Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE) Standards Section C.1.0 and is assigned to the occupational therapy educational program as a full-time core faculty member as defined by the ACOTE. The academic fieldwork coordinator may be assigned other institutional duties that do not interfere with the management and administration of the fieldwork program. Roberts Wesleyan College is committed to providing sufficient release time and support to ensure that the needs of the fieldwork program are met.
