Department of Undergraduate Business

The Undergraduate Business Program is committed to transforming the mind and building character within each student.

We believe academic education alone will not prepare students for personal success, fulfillment, or to affect positive change in their spheres of influence.

Faculty and staff work to integrate these four core values into each student’s years of study:

  • Hope and Courage: Confidence, Vision, Self-Esteem, Risk Taking, Character
  • Integrity: Righteousness, Discernment, Shaping Moral and Ethical Standards
  • Personal Excellence: Academic Fortitude, Perseverance, Entrepreneurship
  • Servant Leadership: Community-Minded, Humility, Service, Selflessness

Experiential Learning

We are committed to providing a hand’s-on learning experience through customized internships for each student, project based learning outside the classroom, and our nationally competitive Enactus team.

Community Spaces

Faculty, staff, and students share our custom-designed area in Hastings Center, creating a comfortable, productive atmosphere that promotes community.
  • Business lounge: the common room and center of department life for students, faculty, and staff.
  • Computer lab: business students only- great for group projects or printing off a paper.
  • Faculty and staff offices: open for students to discuss coursework or life.

Community Outreach

Applying entrepreneurial solutions in Guatemala, addressing the high school drop-out rate in Rochester, and meeting educational needs of children in India is just a portion of student involvement.

Essay Scholarship Contest

Held annually, business students write an essay about one of our core values (listed above) emphasized for that year.

Awards Banquet

This annual event is a celebration of the excellence of our students. Seniors who exemplify our core values are recognized, along with other students involved in their community.
