Tis the Season
What a busy time of the year! Students are preparing for final exams, writing papers, completing projects, and just trying to finish strong! Professors are creating those exams and preparing to grade papers and projects. And, of course, there are those decorations to hang, presents to buy, cookies to bake, and more…. With all that comes this time of year, it can be all too easy to lose sight of the wonder, or perhaps more appropriately, the miracle of Christmas.
For unto us a child is born, to us
a son is given, and the government
shall be upon His shoulders. And he
will be called Wonderful Counselor,
Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince
of Peace… (Isaiah 9:6)
A baby was born, but not just an ordinary baby. A baby who was God incarnate—destined to die on a cross for our sins and the sins of the world; a baby who would also be our Wonderful Counselor, our Great Physician, our Prince of Peace.
May the Christ of Christmas be your Prince of Peace during the busy-ness of this season. May you find the time to truly reflect upon the significance of Christmas and the unspeakable gift of external life through God’s Son!
Merry Christmas and God’s blessings for the coming New Year!
