Announcing PsyD Program Fall 2016!

We are launching an exciting new program in September - a Doctor of Psychology (Psy.D.) program in clinical/school psychology.  We are the only doctoral program in the country that provides training in both clinical and school psychology from a Christian perspective.

The mission of our program is to prepare doctoral level practitioners of health service psychology who can ethically deliver effective, evidence-based psychological services in a variety of settings with diverse populations, and who can integrate the science and practice of psychology with principles of the Christian faith.

The innovative curriculum blends the professional areas of clinical and school psychology, meets educational requirements for licensure as a psychologist in New York State, and includes the provision for meeting the requirements for New York State Certification in School Psychology.   This program is pending approval from the Middle States Commission on Higher Education (anticipated June, 2016).

The program consists of 96 credit hours, completed in four years of full-time study that includes three years of residency at Roberts Wesleyan College, followed by one year of internship. Practicum experiences in assessment, intervention, consultation, and supervision are integrated throughout the program, in both schools and clinical settings. Students will also complete a dissertation that addresses an issue relevant for the professional practice of clinical/school psychology.

Roberts is excited about the launch of this new doctoral program.   If this is a program about which you would like to learn more, please visit our website (www.roberts.edu/PSYD). Additional questions may be directed to Darlene Heitz, Graduate Admissions Coordinator, 585-594-6009.

It’s not too late to apply for the fall. We encourage you to apply to this program, even if you’re not sure you have all the prerequisites met.   We’re happy to work with you!
