Safety at Houses of Worship - Collaboration with FBI and RWC Justice and Security Institute

A free seminar was presented by the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) in collaboration with the Roberts Wesleyan College Justice & Security Institute on Wednesday, May 9th from 9am-12pm. During this program, special agents from the FBI office in Rochester, along with Associate Professor Mark Concordia from the Roberts Wesleyan College Justice & Security Institute, discussed topics such as identifying at-risk individuals on the pathway to violence, threat-assessment for your facility, and the nexus to protecting civil rights.  Representatives from local law enforcement agencies were also present.

Leaders from houses of worship of all faiths from throughout Western New York were invited to this free program and over 115 attended.   The presentations were impactful and  received positive feedback.  The collaboration and partnership with Roberts Wesleyan College and the law enforcement representatives from the area strengthened the value of the program.   Roberts Wesleyan College and the Justice and Security Institute look forward to future collaborative seminars for the community.
