Some description

Hello, and thank you for your interest in the Summer Biology Lab Camp here at Roberts Wesleyan College! We are monitoring the COVID-19 situation closely and feel that it is most prudent to cancel the camp for this summer. We will continue to cooperate with the recommendations of the CDC, Monroe County Board of Health and other trusted officials as we look for an opportunity to safely offer this lab camp, most likely next year.

If you are interested in being put on a list to be notified when we decide how we will move forward with this please send an email to and she will keep you apprised of our plans.

Thank you again for your interest! We are praying for peace, joy, and good health for you and yours!

Roberts is excited to offer our 6th bi-annual biology lab camp, likely during the summer of 2021! This program is designed for home-schooled high school students who want to get more hands-on-experience in biology. • microscopy and microbiology (cell structures and processes, staining and identification of bacteria)
  • genetics (transformation of bacteria, inheritance patterns, protein expression)
  • anatomy and physiology (dissections of invertebrates, vertebrates and organs)
  • field biology (citizen science pollinator population assessment- weather permitting, students will be collecting pollinators (dead bees, flies and beetles) as part of the Empire State Native Pollinator Survey.

The camp fee of $150 includes the lab manual and lab supplies, a t-shirt, a certificate of participation, and fun while learning!

Dates: TBD
The program typically runs:
Monday - Friday 9:30 a.m. - 12:30 p.m.
Wednesday will be a full day (9:30-3:30 p.m.) with lunch included. Friday there will be a closing ceremony beginning at 12:00 p.m. with a small reception to follow.

WEATHER PERMITTING: Students will be working outside with dead bees on Wednesday afternoon.

Cost: $150
(This includes a non-refundable $25 processing fee.) Due along with the student registration form 2-3 weeks before the camp is set to begin (dates will be forthcoming).
