Oliver James Fazar born 10/12/13 to Candice and James Fazar. Oliver weighed in at 8 lbs. 3 oz. and measured 20 inches long. He has been growing rapidly as he is in a hurry to catch up to big sister Chloe. At three months he has doubled his birth weight, grown over four inches in height and loves grabbing things and smiling at everybody, especially mom and dad. The new family of four is enjoying quality time together.

 

GERRY - Shirley J. Kaufmann, 88, of Heritage Village died Monday, Jan. 27, 2014, at the rehab and skilled nursing facility. She was the beloved wife for 64 years of the late Dr. A. Walter Kaufmann, former chairman of Math and Science Division, and academic dean at Roberts Wesleyan College, North Chili, N.Y., and professor at Mt. Vernon Nazarene College.

Born May 18, 1925, in Byesville, Ohio, the daughter of the late William and Beulah Slay Rogers, she was a graduate of Byesville High School and attended Greenville College.

While in North Chili Mrs. Kaufmann was a member of the Pearce Memorial Free Methodist Church. She sang in the church choir, and was active in the Kum Join Us Class. She contributed to the Roberts Wesleyan College community with leadership in the Ellen Stowe Society and as hostess for guest speakers and faculty receptions.

In Mount Vernon, Ohio she was a member of the Lakeholm Nazarene Church, worked with the community Interchurch Food Pantry and Clothing Closet, and participated on a missions trip to Costa Rica.

Mrs. Kaufmann is mother of Professor Lon Kaufmann of Kyiv, Ukraine, Kathy (Rev. Nathan) Prouty of Baltimore, Md., and Gregg Kaufmann of Summerfield, Fla.; grandmother of seven; great-grandmother of seven; and sister of Dale Rogers of Cambridge, Ohio.
