Baccalaureate Program Outcomes and Purposes

1. Prepare professional nurses who are able to provide holistic nursing care in a wide variety of settings to individuals, families and communities.
2. Prepare responsible individuals with a Christian perspective who view compassionate service as an integral part of their lives
3. Provide a foundation for lifelong learning and graduate study and a commitment to lifelong learning

Student Outcomes

Each year, faculty evaluate the student outcomes of each program.  This includes:

• Program Completion Rates
• Benchmark >70% will complete the program in 2.5 years from the second semester of the sophomore year
• Actual 2020-2021: 95%
• Employment Rates of Graduates
• Benchmark > 70%
• Actual 2020-2021: 100% of students who reported (90% total)
• Student Satisfaction with the overall learning as exhibited in course evaluations and survey completed at graduation via a national benchmarking survey
• Benchmark > 5.5 on Scale of 1-7
• Actual 2020-2021: 6.26/7.0
• Student attainment of Program Outcomes through evaluation of assignments - Met
• Student Satisfaction with Support Services (ITS, Learning Center and Library) through national benchmarking survey

Student Program Learning Outcomes are measured by annually evaluating

• student performance on assignments that demonstrate that they meet the program specific student learning outcomes, 
• national benchmarking data or standardized exams (when available) and 
• the students perceptions of meeting the standards through  an anonymous survey, and
• individual course evaluations

During the 2020-2021 academic year, the program outcomes were met.  Students completed an online survey at program completion and rated overall satisfaction, overall learning and overall program effectiveness at 6.0 on a 7.0 scale.

Upon completion of the RN-BS baccalaureate program, the student will be a nursing professional who:

1. Integrates and applies nursing knowledge, and knowledge from other disciplines as a foundation for safe quality nursing practice.
2. Provides developmentally appropriate whole person, evidence-based care that is respectful, compassionate and acknowledges preferences, values, diverse needs, and resources of the recipients of team-based care that is informed by a Christian worldview recognizing the patient is a full partner in and the source of control in team-based care.
3. Collaborates as a member of the interprofessional team to support and improve equitable, positive population health outcomes locally, regionally, and globally.
4. Applies research and evidence with the goal to improve recipient of care outcomes and transform health care in practice setting.
5. Employs established and emerging safety principles and improvement science to provide safe, effective, equitable, whole person care and contribute to a culture of provider and workplace safety.
6. Works collaboratively across professions and with care team members, patients, families, and communities to provide quality care.
7.  Effectively works in teams within complex systems considering health care trends and resources across the continuum of care to advocate for recipients of care.
8. Applies information and communication, and informatics processes to deliver health care services in accordance with best practices, professional and regulatory standards.
9.  Practices with accountability and integrity reflecting professional nursing characteristics and values within the context of a Christian worldview.
10.  Participates in activities and self-reflection that fosters holistic health, resilience, and well-being, lifelong learning and the acquisition of nursing expertise and leadership skills.

Faculty Outcomes

Aggregate faculty outcomes are evaluated annually.  The Roberts faculty are committed to excellence in teaching and participate in service, lifelong learning opportunities and scholarly activities including publication and presentations at local, national and international conferences.
