Leadership Development

Leadership development is at its best when participants own opportunities to influence performance at a higher level and in a manner that unleashes personal authenticity.  This is the next generation of leadership development – allowing leaders at all levels to influence and manage based on unique leadership styles and capacity.

By creating convergence around the leader’s individually authentic combination of values, personality, purpose, strengths and resources, a leader with these insights has a distinct advantage over the uniform ‘cookie-cutter’ leadership development approaches that are broadly applied to everyone.   This leadership development program puts leaders in the driver’s seat.  Every leader walks away with a customized action plan to advance their professional and personal performance.

Dr. Joel Hoomans led the effort to develop leadership talent at one of Fortune Magazine’s Best Companies to Work For. During his tenure in that position, he noticed that many of the top-tier MBA graduates he interviewed lacked critical leadership skills – such as personal ownership of their learning, strengths-based development, leveraging vision and purpose, harnessing new expressions of innovation and creativity, succession planning, strategic agility, and decision quality. This motivated him to create the next generation business degree that integrated people development strategies with core business processes. The result was the Master's in Strategic Leadership, which equips servant leaders with the skills and character necessary for leading, managing and creating great businesses.

He is both a scholar and a practitioner whose role as a consultant and lead trainer/facilitator as part of the Business Solutions Institute parallels his efforts in the graduate classroom. He enjoys the challenge of building customizable ‘best in class’ practices and people in the organizations that need them.
