Redhawks Who Soar - July 2018

Roberts Wesleyan College is proud of its 18,000+ living alumni. Roberts alumni are working in the fields of healthcare, social work, business, education, non-profits and entrepreneurship – to name a few! After graduation, the soul of Roberts stays with our alumni -- read these short updates to learn more about their lives after college.

Here are this month’s Redhawks Who Soar:

Taylor Rawson'18 (Communication) is a Donor Coordinator with the Open Door Mission in Rochester. The Open Door Mission is a Christian Rescue Mission serving impoverished and homeless men, women and children in Rochester, NY.

Chelsea Hayward’18 (Nursing) was selected as a nominee for the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year award. The next step is selecting 10 honorees from each of the three NCAA divisions which will be narrowed down to three finalists in each division for a total of nine finalists. The Committee on Women's Athletics will select the 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year from nine finalists. The 2018 NCAA Woman of the Year will be announced Sunday, Oct. 28, at an awards dinner in Indianapolis.

Rhonda Noto’95 (Organizational Management) has been promoted to chief human resources and administrative officer at Harter Secrest & Emery LLP in Rochester. Noto will lead the firm’s human resources strategies and is responsible for document and office services administrative function across the five offices. Read the full story.

Matthew Deknatel’11 (Master of Strategic Leadership) is the Assistant VP and Business Development Officer at Generations Bank. Read the full story.

Christine Reynolds’81 (Elementary Education) retired in June. She was the Dolgeville Central School District Superintendent. Read the full story.

Two alumni are finalists for 2018 GREAT Awards by Digital Rochester. The GREAT awards were created to recognize and celebrate technological achievement in the Greater Rochester community. Devin L. Hawkins’14 (Master of Strategic Leadership), who is the Strategic Initiatives Director at Trillium Health, is a finalist for Project Manager of the Year. Travis Masonis’13 (Master Health Informatics) is the Chief Information Officer at Jewish Senior Life where they are a finalist in the In the Tech for Good Award category. The awards celebration will be on Sept. 26 at the Joseph A. Floreano Rochester Riverside Convention Center.
