Accomplishments in Teacher Education
Two MED LIT students, Sierra Dix and Samantha Bruehl, had proposals accepted to the NYS Reading Association (NYSRA) Conference. The title of their presentation is “Supporting Academic Language in History and Social Studies” and is grounded in an assignment they completed in EDUC 5901 taught by Maryanne Barrett. Elizabeth Stevens’ paper proposal “And We’re Like Dinosaurs” has been accepted for presentation at the Literacy Research Association’s (LRA) 67th annual conference in November in Tampa. This is the premier literacy research conference in this field.
In addition, Elizabeth Stevens has been asked to serve as an Area Chair for the Annual Conference. There are only 14 Area Chairs in the country! Please join us in congratulating Elizabeth and students for these wonderful accomplishments!
