Highlights in School of Business

  • The School of Business now has a Facebook page!  https://www.facebook.com/RobertsWesleyanBusiness/.  Please “like” and follow our page to keep up to date with other alumni, students and exciting news!

  • Master of Health Administration (MHA) had a successful launch in the spring of 2017. Health Administration now has 3 online programs, including the Master of Health Informatics and (MHI) and Bachelor of Health Administration (BHA) programs, in addition to classroom offerings for both BHA and MHA.  A total of 8 cohorts started in 2016-2017!

  • Health Administration was fortunate to gain Theresa Charlebois as a faculty member last year.  Ms. Charlebois had served Roberts Wesleyan College as an Adjunct Faculty for the 4 years in the Health Administration programs, and joined us as an Assistant Professor of Health Administration. Ms. Charlebois came to us with experience in health care, specifically with experience in the revenue cycle and IS management arenas.  She is a graduate of Roberts Wesleyan College (MHA ‘10) and was the recipient of the Distinguished Leadership Award.  She is currently pursuing a Doctorate of Health Administration at Walden University.

  • In an effort to provide our students with the most current trends and information in the health care industry, 19 courses were updated or rewritten in the 2016-2017 academic year. Updated courses included Health Insurance, Research Methods, Bioethics, Health Care Systems and Organizations and more!

  • Dr. Michele Kraynik attended and presented a poster (co-written by Dr. Erv Starr)  entitled  “Blending Degree Programs: Traditional Undergraduate Business pathway to a Non-traditional Bachelor of Heath Administration Degree” at the International Accreditation Council for  Business Education  (IACBE) Annual Meeting held in San Francisco in April of 2017.

  • On February 4th of this year, Ms. Charlebois presented a poster entitled “An Interdisciplinary Approach to Aid-in-Dying: Accomplishing the Triple Aim” during Academic Scholarship Weekend.  During this weekend, approximately 80+ prospective Global Honors Program students and their family came to campus in order to learn about the robust thriving community here at Roberts, including all of the rigorous programs and research opportunities in which they can take part.  As a result, a number of students committed to coming to Roberts as freshman this fall.

  • To enhance the student experience in the Course Management System (CMS) health administration created templates for both online and classroom courses to promote standardization in order to foster a better student experience.

  • The School of Business Networking Night at Fiamma Centro on April 25th was very well attended.  The keynote speaker was Travis Masonis (MHI ’13), the CIO of Jewish Senior Life.  We hope to see you at the next Networking Night on September 7th.  Look for an invite and join us for fun and fellowship!
