The Regional Gallery Director's Forum

Mission Statement and Goals
Founded in 2007, by Kathrine Page, Director Davison Gallery, The Regional Gallery Director's Forum exists to promote the ideals and business skills of upstate New York regional gallery, museum, or cultural center directors, and ultimately to generate greater public appreciation for and participation in the arts and artists in the region.

As venues for cultural enrichment of artistic practice, the RGDF exists so that collectively gallery spaces can make a difference in the lives of artists that come through our doors in the following ways:

  • To build on conversations resulting from networking events of willing participants such as curatorial roundtables, symposiums, and conferences with participants/members on technical advice and solutions to specific issues
  • To increase knowledge by the free dissemination of information and presenting symposiums on innovative exhibitions and practice
  • To encourage exhibitions of high artistic merit
  • To encourage best practice in exhibition development by adhering to professional standards set by the American Association of Museums Guide to Exhibiting Borrowed Objects.
  • To collaborate on exhibitions

Meetings on the third Thursday of the month at 5:30 p.m., except on holidays and summer months of July and August. Free Membership
