Psychology Faculty - Full-time
Roberts Wesleyan University invites candidates to apply for a full-time (9 month), tenure-track faculty position beginning July 1, 2023. The psychology program is housed in the School of Natural and Social Sciences on our park-like campus in Rochester New York, providing the program with the advantages of a suburban setting within a vibrant metropolitan area.

Our psychology department supports approximately 60 undergraduate majors and additional students who have declared a psychology minor or as part of their cross disciplinary studies. Additionally, we support a masters program in school psychology and a doctoral program in clinical/school psychology. In September, 2020 we launched an on-campus training clinic (Westside Psychological Clinic) that services both our training endeavors while also supporting the surrounding community's need for psychological services.
Required qualifications include a doctoral degree in Clinical or School Psychology and work experience within a school setting is preferred. Candidates should have a strong commitment toward excellence in teaching and scholarship, a strong desire for teaching and recruiting undergraduate psychology majors, and a strong commitment toward Christian higher education. Previous academic teaching experience preferred with evidence of past experience in teaching in areas of Developmental Psychology, Learning and Behavior, Psychological Assessment, Biological Bases of Behavior, and Gender. A successful candidate will be able to demonstrate cultural competence and show strong commitment to the principles of diversity & equity. Candidates must demonstrate a strong commitment to the integration of Christian faith and professional practice and a willingness to support the University’s Christian mission and identity. Candidates who hold NYS certifications and or professional licensure as a psychologist will be given special consideration.
Teaching responsibilities would include a primary teaching load at the undergraduate level with some graduate teaching expected. Courses will be determined based on needed areas of fit. Additional responsibilities include dissertation supervision and committee support, advising, campus committee work, ongoing department collaboration in support of new program design and student retention efforts. While the primary focus for faculty is teaching, effective faculty performance will also include service, profession-related activity, and scholarship.
