Successful Alumni Spotlight

On October 31, Upstate Social Sessions hosted a one-day conference discussing social media strategy for personal and professional use.  Steve Carter '13 and Leah Stacy '08 were two of the co-coordinators of the conference.

“One of our biggest goals for Upstate Social Sessions was to create a social media event downtown that would draw both the community and local students.  We believe that it is vital for students, especially, to come to the city and attend professional events with people who are already working in the field, said Stacy. We also invited social experts from outside Rochester who could lend their insights to see the creative community we're building here.“

The conference featured national and local professionals from Time Magazine, Marvel Comics, CNN, and Dixon Schwabl. About 250 people were in attendance, including Roberts students and alumni. The day consisted of panels, keynotes, and plenty of tweets, posts and ‘grams.
