Roberts Celebrates the Tradition of Advent

Advent is the period of four Sundays and weeks before Christmas (the 1st of December to Christmas Day). Advent means “Coming” or “Arrival” in Latin. The focus of the entire season is the celebration of the birth of Jesus coming into the world.

December 1st President Porterfield launched the countdown with a new Christmas tradition during a tree lighting ceremony. The Roberts community enjoyed lighting candles, reading scripture, singing carols, along with hot cocoa and cookies.

Join the Advent or “Christmas Countdown’ by visiting the Roberts Wesleyan College Online Advent Calendar to find out something Christmassy each day!
