Roberts Wesleyan College Announces First Redhawks Swim Team

Roberts Wesleyan College announces that swimming will become an intercollegiate sport beginning in fall 2017. The team will use the college's swimming pool in the Voller Athletic Center for practices and dual meets. It will also compete in larger regional invitational meets.

"We are excited about the announcement of our 19th NCAA Division II competitive sport at Roberts,” Athletic Director Bob Segave said. “The college has had a pool for 30 years. However, this is the first swim team for the Redhawks. Having a swimming program will not only add another varsity team, but will also contribute to our diverse student body.”

Roberts Wesleyan College was ranked 44th in The Best 50 Christian College and University Athletic Programs for 2016.

The addition of swimming aligns with planned athletic program expansions and makes Roberts just the third Christian college with the sport in the Northeast. The college will search for a head coach and recruit male and female student-athletes with competitive swim experience to join the program this fall.
