August 21, 2015Campus Closeup: Nursing Students Host Refugee Clinic in Costa Rica
Students from the School of Nursing at Roberts Wesleyan College traveled to Costa Rica to provide health screenings to Nicaraguan refugees. After training with on-campus simulations and clinical placements, these students used their knowledge and experience to plan this 10-day missions trip as part of their cross-cultural nursing course. They organized the health clinics, managed patient flow, and collaborated with local interpreters to teach refugees about proper hygiene and nutrition.
