On Tuesday, November 12, the Office of Advancement and the School of Liberal Arts and Sciences hosted Arunas Chesonis for a luncheon with Roberts Wesleyan College students and faculty.  Chesonis, founder and former CEO of the telecom company PAE-TEC, is currently CEO of Sweetwater Energy, which produces biomass-based sugars that can replace petroleum in fuels and plastics.

About 80 students and faculty from the departments of Biological and Chemical Sciences, Computer Science, Math, and Physics, and Business gathered for an informative and entertaining presentation and question and answer session.  Topics included research on renewable energy sources and development of cutting-edge technologies at both Sweetwater and M.I.T., the business and ethics of renewable energy, and entrepreneurship.  Chesonis also reflected on his own collegiate and career decisions.
