Roberts Wesleyan College Women's Cross Country Team Wins NCCAA National Championship

The Roberts Wesleyan College Women's Cross Country team won the NCCAA Women's Cross Country National Championship race November 16th on the campus of Cedarville (Ohio) University. The national title is the first for the Redhawks.

The Redhawks placed three runners in the top ten as they scored a total of 49 points, distancing themselves from second place Azusa Pacific (Calif.) University by 30 points.

  • Rachel Prutsman, a junior, crossed the finish line with a time of 17:59.15
  • Megan Hulton, a junior,  took fourth place as she finished the race in 18:16.72
  • Freshman Rachel Hutchinson placed ninth at 18:41.25.
  • Senior Kimberly Mills was 15th in the race with a time of 18:59.90.
  • Other top finishers for the Redhawks included Hannah Taft at 22nd (19:06.87), and Rachel Hust at 36th (19:21.88).

The national championship caps off a remarkable season for the Redhawks, who also won the East Coast Conference race as well as their home race, the Harry F. Anderson Invitational. Overall, Roberts Wesleyan won six of their seven meets this season.
