Dr. Scarbrough Awarded The High Honor of ASCAP's Plus Award

ROCHESTER, NY – Dr. Russell Scarbrough, adjunct professor of jazz studies and composition, was awarded the high honor of ASCAP’s Plus Award. ASCAP (The American Society of Composers, Authors, and Publishers) awards these honors solely based on the “unique prestige of each writer’s catalog of original compositions as well as recent performances in areas not surveyed by the Society.”

"I'm honored to receive an ASCAP Plus award this year from the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers,” said Dr. Scarbrough. “Live music is a vital part of our society, something that has great power to unify and to uplift. It is a privilege to be recognized among the esteemed ranks of composers writing music for live performance. I am also thankful to my colleagues in the Music Department and in the Roberts community for their support and encouragement in all my creative endeavors.”
