Fall 2013 Newsletter

Dear Alumni,

As I write, I am recovering from sore knees following sand volleyball on a chilly Sunday afternoon at Ontario Beach Park in the City of Rochester. Students and faculty from biology, chemistry, computer science, mathematics, and physics had gathered there for our traditional fall picnic. We are also days from Homecoming when the Math and Science Club and the Society of Physics Students both plan to enter shopping cart floats in the Homecoming Parade.

The Department of Computer Science, Mathematics and Physics continues to work with our colleagues in the Biological and Chemical Sciences to promote a community of scientists working together for the benefit of our students and the Kingdom of God. We also work to expand the opportunities for study, research, outreach, and social functions from within the Department.

Projects you may have read about in previous editions continue: three RWC students have been part of Professor Fazar’s work with the University of Rochester, one student has participated with Martin Pepe on the radio telescope project, and students continue to participate in off campus research opportunities. Enjoy the other bits of news from Roberts and let us hear from you.
