Position Description: The Roberts Wesleyan College Department of Nursing invites applications for a full-time, 10-month, non-tenure-track Coordinator of Nursing Laboratory Technology position, immediate opening starting in April 2015.
Department of Nursing: The Roberts Wesleyan College Nursing Department is a learning community grounded in the Christian faith and committed to excellence in nursing through innovative education, scholarship and service. Our accredited programs include a Bachelor of Science Degree in Nursing, a RN to BS degree completion program, a Master of Science in Nursing Leadership and Administration, and a Master of Science with a major in Nursing Education.
Qualifications: Applicants must have a Bachelor’s degree, preferably a Master’s degree, with Simulation certification or the ability to receive certification within 2-3 years of starting position. Previous healthcare experience such as nursing or psychology preferred. Candidates must demonstrate excellent computer skills with the ability to develop knowledge of audio/video equipment and software. They must have the ability to express technical information clearly and simply, troubleshoot basic equipment issues, and set priorities and make critical decisions. Candidates must be able to work effectively with individuals from different disciplines and levels of training/education. Strong communication, organizational, and interpersonal skills are required, along with good delegation skills and the ability to be flexible as situations or circumstances change.
Responsibilities: Coordinate the technology and provide instruction in our new State-of-the-Art Nursing Skills and Simulation labs; Collaborate with clinical instruction team to plan and direct on-campus clinical learning; Assist faculty in learning appropriate technology skills; Maintain a scheduling and inventory system; Manage the purchase and implementation of all lab related technological and academic support resources; May be required to lift, push, pull lab equipment.
