Accreditation

In 2013 the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC) merged with the National Council for Accreditation of Teacher Education (NCATE) to form a new accrediting body called the Council for the Accreditation of Educator Preparation (CAEP).

We are proud to announce that as of October 4, 2013, the Inquiry Brief Commission of CAEP awarded accreditation with no stipulations for seven years to the Department of Teacher Education at Roberts Wesleyan College for providing evidence of excellence in educator preparation using the quality principles of the Teacher Education Accreditation Council (TEAC). CAEP is now the sole agency for schools and universities looking to achieve accreditation in their education programs.

In preparation for the next cycle of accreditation in 2020, the Department of Teacher Education is revising key assessments to help measure students’ growth in several areas. Teacher candidates will achieve Roberts’ measures of excellence in educational settings through challenging academics, self-reflection, and continuous improvement.

As CAEP finalizes changes, the Department of Teacher Education continues to move forward with rigorous standards for all programs. We invite you to browse our many programs to learn more and read about our staff and faculty.
