Psychology Major Reflections, Nicole Puglisi, '16

When faced with the decision about what I was going to study in college, I only knew two things: I wanted to do something that would allow me to help people and that I loved my college-level psychology class I was enrolled in. With knowledge of this, I decided to study psychology. However, the reasons I remained a psychology major are more specific. I love the professors in the psychology department here at Roberts and the classes that are offered for the psychology degrees. The professors genuinely care about their students and want to help them flourish in their careers. I am blessed with classes that challenge me and professors who love their students. When I came in as a psychology major freshmen year, I intended to go into Christian marriage counseling. However, now as a junior psychology student I am not quite sure what path I am going to travel on with my psychology degree. I want to help people, but I am not sure in what capacity this will entail in my future. I am at peace with this because I know that through prayer and the counsel of our awesome professors the Lord will place me exactly where my abilities will most effectively be used.
