Location and Environment

Roberts Wesleyan College is located on 75 beautiful, rolling acres in suburban Rochester, New York, 10 miles southwest of the center of the city and 12 miles from the shores of Lake Ontario.  The Monroe County location is proximate to regional natural attractions including Niagara Falls, Watkins Glen, Letchworth State Park, and the Finger Lakes.  The campus boasts first-rate facilities, including the Voller Athletic Center, the Roberts Cultural Life Center, the state-of-the-art B. Thomas Golisano Library, and the Hastings Center for Academics.

The Rochester metropolitan area offers numerous cultural enrichment opportunities, all within convenient driving distances of the campus. The Rochester Philharmonic Orchestra and several fine groups associated with the renowned Eastman School of Music perform concerts throughout the year. Museum facilities include the Memorial Art Gallery of the University of Rochester, the George Eastman House and International Museum of Photography, the Strong National Museum of Play, and the Rochester Museum and Science Center with its Strasenburgh Planetarium.

Rochester's history is marked by the contributions of several of the most well-known business entrepreneurs in America including George Eastman, founder of Eastman Kodak Company; John J. Bausch and Henry Lomb, founders of Bausch & Lomb; Joseph C. Wilson, founder of Xerox Corporation; and, more recently, B. Thomas Golisano, founder of Paychex, Incorporated.
