Special Program in Coaching Licensure

For those individuals who are not Physical Education teacher certified and wish to coach in the State of New York, Roberts Wesleyan College offers a series of courses designed to meet the guidelines for the coaching requirement established by the Commissioner of Education at the State Education Department.

The courses are as follows:

PPE 225 Administration Interscholastic Athletics
PPE 235 Coaching Techniques and Practice
PPE 250 Scientific Bases of Exercise
PPE 450 Coaching Practicum
PED 201 First Aid CPR/Professional Rescuer

When all courses (12 hours minimum) are successfully completed, the student will apply directly to the State Education Department for licensure.

NOTE:  These classes are also part of a Coaching Minor.
