Domestic Programs

A. American Studies Program

American Studies Program (ASP) is offered through the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.  The ASP's goal is to offer students opportunities for "interdisciplinary reflection on public life and vocation, practical marketplace experiences and community living."  Students spend the semester in Washington D.C. and will first "develop an appreciation for how the integral character of biblical faith relates to thinking critically about public policy and marketplace issues, and second, to nurture a desire to take up responsible Christ-centered service in their personal and public vocations, whatever their career paths or walks of life."  http://www.bestsemester.com/asp/overview/

B. Contemporary Music Center

Contemporary Music Center (CMC) is offered through the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities.  "This interdisciplinary off-campus study program (in Nashville, Tennessee) provides a community for young musicians and aspiring music executives to plumb the depths of their creative souls and test the waters of a career in popular music. Designed as an artists' community, the program seeks to develop artists and music executives with a Christ-centered vision for music content, production and delivery.  The mission of the CMC is to prepare students academically and creatively for potential careers in the music industry." http://www.bestsemester.com/cmc/overview/

C. Los Angeles Film Studies Program

The Los Angeles Film Studies Center (LAFSC) is offered through the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. "The Los Angeles Film Studies Center is designed to train students to serve in various aspects of the film industry with both professional skill and Christian integrity.  A combination of an internship and seminars allows students to explore the film industry within a Christian context and from a liberal arts perspective." http://www.bestsemester.com/lafsc/overview/

D. Washington Journalism Center

The Washington Journalism Center (WJC) is offered through the Council for Christian Colleges and Universities. "The Washington Journalism Center is an advanced, experiential semester on Capitol Hill that will cultivate professional news skills and encourage students to think through the implications of being a Christian working in the news media in a city that is home to the powerful and the powerless." http://www.bestsemester.com/wjc/overview/

E. Focus on the Family Institute (FFI)

Each semester a limited number of Roberts Wesleyan College students may apply to study at Focus on the Family headquarters in Colorado. Courses taken through Focus on the Family are taken as Roberts Wesleyan College courses and count toward degree requirements. http://www.focusleadership.org/
