Alumna, Morgan Monaghan
“To Bleed or Not to Bleed: How and When your Blood Needs to Clot”
Morgan Monaghan graduated from the Roberts Wesleyan College Honors Program in 2011 with a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Biochemistry. In 2011, she matriculated into the University of Rochester doctoral program in Biochemistry. Her thesis focuses on the structure and function of the plasma protein Factor VIII which functions during the blood clotting cascade. In 2013, she received her Master’s degree in Biochemistry and was awarded a competitive NIH training grant in Cellular, Biochemical, and Molecular Sciences. Recently she received the Elon Huntington Hooker Fellowship, awarded to students doing research in chemistry, and the Elmer H. Stotz Graduate Early Career Research Fellowship, awarded to students doing research in biochemistry.
