Should your brand be on social media?

Is your company still on the fence as to whether or not they should be on Facebook and Twitter? Check this out…….The top three reasons people follow a brand:

1. Contests or Sweepstakes
2. They are a current customer
3. Interesting or entertaining content.

Not only are current customers following or liking your brand, they are influencing their friends to also follow this brand. More than half of Facebook users are following 2-5 different brands every day. Take into consideration that there are more than 200 million active users…..and over 100 million users login at least once a day….For Twitter, 13 percent of the online US adults aged 18 and older use Twitter, up from eight percent in November 2010…..isn’t it time your brand considered social media? People want to get involved and interact with their favorite brands.

Wonder what the top brands are…

-Facebook
-YouTube
-Disney
-CocaCola
-Starbucks

  1. Jackie, great post! Many people think that social will go away if they just ignore it. I remind them, fear is not a strategy!

  5. Danille, I just read your story and felt I had to reply to say Thank You for sharing your story. I cannot explain to you how much I identify with your ambition, loss of confidence but most importantly your inner beleif that you can turn your dream into a reality. I also fell in love with the world of acting from a young age … cut a long story short I found Act Up and it opened up a whole new world to me. Gemma in particular gave me the confidence to audition for drama school. Despite getting a recall at RADA I was not offered a place as I was told to get more experience. I too was gutted. I went into denial trying to convince myself that acting was not the route for me and that I would never be good enough etc. 4 years went by but that longing to be an actress never left me. Last year I joined CTW, a local amateaur dramatics group and have learnt so much about performing that I intend to give drama school another shot in September. Do not give up your dream. I would love to know how you get on. Wish you the best of luck. Vikki.
