Boys’ and Girls’ Developmental Volleyball Day Camp

Girls and Boys entering grades 6 through 12
The Roberts Wesleyan College Volleyball Camps include five days of volleyball instruction, training, practice, and game play. Campers will receive detailed instruction in every phase of the game. Campers will be grouped according to ability level and assigned to team coaches. The player/coach ratio will be excellent to optimize individual attention and foster an accelerated learning environment. There will be an ideal mix of technical instruction, including offensive and defensive strategies, team skill building, specialized position training, and lots of playing time. This is the best camp to attend for development in all aspects of the game. The daily schedule includes morning review by coaches, followed by individual or small group training. The camp includes many camp competitions which include king/queen of the court; 3v3; 4v4; the coaches’ challenge court and the ever popular camp ending 6v6 tournament.
Boys’ and Girls’ Elite Volleyball Day Camp

This camp is for volleyball players that want to develop a particular position or aspect of the game. The Elite Skills Camp will offer the following sections: Setter’s Camp, Hitter’s Camp, and All Skills Camp. This camp will include much more game competition, and complex offensive and defensive strategies. The player/coach ratio will be excellent to optimize individual attention in specific positions. There will be an ideal mix of technical instruction, including offensive and defensive strategies, team skill building, specialized position training, and lots of playing time. If you want to play a lot of volleyball at camp, this is the camp for you!
Girls’ JV & Varsity Volleyball Team Evening Camp
July 28th- July31st 2008 (4 day camp)
5:00-7:30pm
Girls JV & Varsity players entering grades 8 through 12
This camp will be full of area college and high school volleyball coaches as well as collegiate players who will be working side by side with the high school team coaches and athletes. The format of the camp will be daily team drills and instruction followed by daily round-robin tournaments with other teams. There will be plenty of time for coaching instruction, tactical changes, and recovery each and every day. This is a great camp to get a head start on the competition this fall. Sign up as an individual, or get your whole team to come!
Children’s Volleyball Morning Camp
July 28th- July 31st 2008 (4 day camp)

Girls and Boys entering grades 1 through 5
Roberts Wesleyan Boys’ and Girls’ Children’s Volleyball Camp is great fun! There will be plenty of fun exercise including relays races, agility tag games, scavenger hunts, learning the positions on the court, children's volleyball beginning skills orientation, eye-hand coordination exercises using balls of various sizes, as well as much, much more. College Camp Staff intermix themselves among the children and help them gain confidences in athletics and teamwork. If you're looking for a fun camp for boys and girls to attend and feel good about themselves...this is the one! Daily juice snack provided.

Women’s Volleyball Coach has compiled a superb record of 321-129 in his thirteen years at Roberts Wesleyan College. Each of the thirteen years he has coached the College team, Roberts has been ranked nationally in the top 15 in the NCCAA Division I. In 1998 Vanderhoof was selected Northeast Atlantic Conference and NAIA Northeast Region Coach of the Year. Vanderhoof has coached the RWC Women’s Volleyball program to 13 straight winning seasons (with at least 20+ wins every year). He earned his 300th career victory during the 2006 season.
Before coaching at RWC, Vanderhoof started the Gates Chili Men’s Varsity Volleyball Program where in his 8 year coaching span he led the Gates Chili Men’s Program to an impressive 118 wins and 48 losses. Gates Chili’s teams were considered to be among the best in New York State and won several league and Sectional Championships. He was the Head Women’s Volleyball Coach at Gates Chili High School for 26 years where his teams were among the best in New York State. In 2006, Coach Vanderhoof resigned as the Head Girl's Volleyball Coach after 26 years to coach solely at Roberts. He is the New York State Section V Monroe County High School Winter girl’s volleyball chairperson, as well as a NCAA and a USA National Certified official.
Facilities
The facilities are world class. The Roberts gymnasium is host to the Raider Volleyball. With a capacity of 2,000, it has been host of numerous high school and collegiate invitational tournaments, sectional post season tournaments, as well as the New York State High School Girls Championships for Volleyball.

General Information
- RWC full-day Volleyball camp runs 9 a.m. - 4 p.m. Monday through Thursday, and on Friday runs from 9 a.m. to 12 noon.
- Drop off and pick up is at the loop in front of the Voller Athletic Center
- Each full-day camp includes a camp shirt and full lunch in the College cafeteria (except Friday).
- Camps include swimming (unless otherwise specified), scheduled at the discretion of each sport camp director.
- Each camper should bring water bottle, hat, sun glasses, sun block, bathing suit, and towel. Locker room locks not provided.
