Compeer Mentoring Opportunities

Compeer of Rochester helps children and adults overcome the devastating effects of mental illness, such as loneliness, low self-esteem, and isolation. This is achieved through the healing power of friendships. Our motto is, “Making Friends, Changing Lives.” We offer an array of volunteer based programs and services to provide supportive friendships for people in mental health care or with emotional challenges. Our innovative programs serve as a complement to therapy. They include one-to-one mentoring relationships, skill-building, and interim telephone support. Unfortunately there are more than 900 children and adults on our waiting list in New York State.

You can help. Compeer is in need of mentors. All it takes is a few hours a month to help someone grow and learn new skills. Compeer has many rewarding opportunities that will fit your lifestyle. For more information visit our website at www.rochester.compeer.org or call Mary Jo Cicero at (585)546-8280 ext. 124.
